A meditation Meditatio is neither a summary Summarium, exegesis Exegesis, commentary Commentarius, nor preface Praefatio. It is the reader's own reflection upon a work, sometimes leading through other authors and ideas. The meditator need not agree with the work in its entirety, but his reading inevitably bears his own interpretive substance.
